  We have been here at least 10 times and this surprisingly my first review of Slim McGinn's.  
  
   For lunch yesterday (16 May) we decided to visit Slim's after a 6 month break, and we received the usual great service and quality food.  Their homemade chips are awesome, I suggest a side of blue cheese dressing to accompany them...tasty.
  
   With this visit we ordered the special wrap which was a bruschetta chicken wrap and the corned beef sandwich.  The wrap was thoroughly enjoyed by my wife, and when the server (I think Julie, sorry) mentioned garlic in the wrap in the description of the item they mean gaaarlic..awesome!  She ordered the fries as a side and they were nicely salted and done nicely.
   I am kinda on the fence with the corned beef, it was tasty don't get me wrong, it is just that I had some really fatty pieces on one side of the sandwich.  I know corned beef can be fatty, but served in a sandwich it should be trimmed a little better.  Anyway that is my only gripe, I'll ask for less fatty pieces next time :)  Again the chips were awesome and if you pair with the blue cheese dressing it is very very tasty.

  We have been coming to Slim McGinn's for a long time.  Being our local (walking distance from home) restaurant, we frequent it quite a bit.  It doesn't  matter if we sit at the bar or grab a table, the service and food is always the same, great.  
  
  We have visited any day of the week, Wednesday has become our favorite, followed by Friday fish fry.  Why Wednesday?  Crab legs, that's why. Their crab legs special is as good as it gets. Three large clusters, potato side, bread and a soup or salad
  
  They have a solid beer selection and mixup a great well drink, as well.  Service is always attentive and help to make the meal a good experience.
  
  We have had burgers, steaks, crab cakes and many other meals and appetizers.  Everything has been very good and well prepared.  You know you have something good when the kids want to go there for the food.  
  
  If you are looking for a solid bar to go and get to know people, Slim McGinn's is one of those bars. You will be well taken care of and full of good food when you leave.

  We have gone to Slim's a number of times in the past and always had great food.  However, this past Friday night was a different story.  I ordered the perch fry and my wife ordered a fish sandwich.  When the orders came, the fish seemed a bit overcooked but more importantly it had a very strong "pepper" taste.  We agreed the taste was in the breading used on the fish and it made for a not so great dinner.  We will probably give it another try some Friday in the future, but they need to understand that not all customers like a strong pepper flavor to their meal.

  Our first time visiting and we are fan.  The food was good, i had the chicken sandwich and love that you can build this since i'm not a fan of burgers.  We look forward to going back and trying some other items.

  This is a cumulative review of our past few visits.  This place has been busy each time we have been here, despite that the wait is not long to get a table, even on Friday night.  You will certainly notice that they have an established group of regulars, and sometimes in that type of place, you don't get great service because they are so focused on regulars, we have not experienced that.  Service has been welcoming and sharp each time.  Food is pub fare, nothing especially different or unique, but they do it very, very well.  We have tried a variety of items and not been disappointed once.
